I think that Upstairs/Downstairs is a very decent palette and I thought that the packaging AND the shades themselves all look nicer in real-life, compared to how everything appears in photos/video; the shadow shades have more of an impact and the palette itself is sturdy and colourful, so I don't regret buying it since there are nice pops of all of my favourite shades here in really nice formulas. This palette is fantastic for quick & simple pink, purple or blue monochromatic looks, since those are the most plentiful colours in the palette. There are also striking orange, yellow gold, copper and charcoal pops for when I want a fancier 'going out out' look. Of course, you can always use this in combination with more neutral palettes, for adding a touch of colour to your 'everyday' more conservative looks. I'm not usually a fan of the brand's shimmers, but the last couple of collaboration collections from them this year have been great & have pleasantly surprised me, and the Corpse Bride collection has had some of the best formulas I have ever tried from Revolution; not as dry & crumbly as most of their regular shimmer formulas tend to be, and the molten appearance doesn't fade over the day. The matte shades are all fantastic; they apply smoothly, have minimal fallout, and don't fade or crease over the course of the day. This palette does share a niggle with every large palette I have experience with - there are some shades that are overly similar to each other, in particular a couple of the lighter pink shimmers. Plus; this palette only has a couple of truly neutral shades & a couple of 'nearly neutral' shades in it, so I'd recommend a getting a companion palette to help you make this palette go further in your 'everyday' life; Revolution's Corpse Bride collection has a fantastic 9-pan neutral palette [Grave Misunderstanding], which I personally love using alongside this for softer day to day looks. - Call me picky, but whilst the colour story for this palette is very pretty, it just doesn't scream "Corpse Bride" to me - and for a collection named after a well-known film & a palette based around a particular theme from it, the mismatch bothers me. I don't mind quite so much that one of the smaller eyeshadow palettes in this collection also missed the mark when it comes to the colour story, since it is less expensive, is easier to wear and can be used both alone & as a companion piece to this. However this particular palette is at the highest price-point for a single cosmetic item from the brand [£20], so I do think that more attention should have been taken when selecting the shades used. So yeah, despite the shade selection being very pretty, that there are more matte than shimmers, the palette itself is stunning, and the formulas are excellent for a drugstore brand, I still hesitate to call this a must-have for me. I'd still recommend this palette to other people ‐ major fans of Corpse Bride will love the packaging & shade names. Revolution palette collectors, or people looking for affordable palette gift ideas will also be delighted by Upstairs/Downstairs. However if I lost my palette tomorrow I highly doubt that I'd bother replacing it, since whenever I use it, I keep on focusing in on what I'd change about it.
